Editorial standards

No club, brand, clinic or venue pays for coverage, a verdict, a ranking or a listing. We do not accept free or discounted memberships, products or treatments in exchange for coverage. If a writer has a personal relationship with a venue or brand, they do not write about it.

Every price, facility count, opening hour and product specification is checked against the primary source (the operator’s own published data) before publication and re-checked quarterly. Data tables carry a last-checked date. Anything we have not yet confirmed carries a visible verification flag on the page.

Health, recovery and nutrition claims are graded in plain language against the published literature and link to NHS, NICE or peer-reviewed sources. Where the evidence is weak or absent, we say so, including for products we link to. Consumer wearable and test readings are described as flags, not diagnoses.

We are not clinicians, lawyers or financial advisers. Health pages carry a disclaimer and a when-to-see-a-GP block. Contract and cancellation guidance is general and points to Citizens Advice and the CMA. We do not review clubs we have not visited without saying so.

Affiliate links are disclosed on every page that carries them, in the header and the footer. They never appear on health explainer pages. Commission never influences what we recommend; where a non-affiliate option is better, we say so.

British English. Sentence case. Second person. No exclamation marks, no emoji, no hype. Prices in pounds with the currency and date stated; European prices in local currency with a sterling guide.

Errors are corrected on the page with a dated note and logged on the corrections page. Readers and venues can submit corrections through the contact form (not yet available); we aim to respond within five working days.

Quiz, calculator and finder inputs are not stored unless you ask us to email results. Newsletter data is used only for the newsletter. See the privacy policy.
