How we verify prices, facilities and venues
Every number on this site has a source, a date and a status. What those mean, how often we check, and what the verification flag on a page is telling you.

Three statuses
Verified: checked against the operator’s own published data or confirmed in writing, with the date shown. Illustrative: a typical figure from our dataset that has not yet been confirmed for this specific venue; shown with a verification flag. Reported: from a member or reader and awaiting confirmation; shown as such. As of September 2026 most pricing on the site is illustrative while the verification programme runs; the flags are honest about that.
Sources, in order
The operator’s own website, price list or app. Written confirmation from the operator. A visit by one of us. Reader reports, which trigger a check but are never published as fact on their own. Press coverage is a prompt to check, not a source.
What we check
Membership prices by tier and contract length; joining fees; facility lists (pool, sauna, steam, plunge, courts, studios, crèche); opening hours; class programmes; treatment prices; product RRPs and specifications; test panel contents and prices; regulator registration for clinics.
How often
Chain pricing and facilities: quarterly, and immediately on a reported change. Offers: monthly. Product RRPs: quarterly. Health provider panels and prices: quarterly. Court and venue data: rolling, as reports arrive. Each data table shows its last-checked date.
Clinics and providers
We show the regulator (CQC, HIS, HIW, RQIA, or the national equivalent) and accreditation (UKAS for laboratories) where the provider states it. We do not vet clinical quality and say so on every finder.
When we are wrong
Corrections go on the page with a dated note and on the corrections log. Venues can submit updates through the contact form (not yet available); we check them against the source before publishing.
